Chuchuhuasi (Maytenus krukovii), a very large canopy tree from Amazon, which bark has been used as a remedy for many centuries.
Chuchuhuasi translates as “trembling back” due to its effectiveness as a remedy for back pain, arthritis osteoarthritis, and rheumatism.
It contains a variety of naturally-occurring compounds notably the two tumor-fighting alkaloids mayteine and maytansine.
Chuchuhuasi is also used in prophylaxis and support of the treatment of multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or depression.

It is recommended to administer Chuchuhuasi during a period of reduced solar exposure, i.e. in autumn and winter.
